Jay! This is brilliant!! Thank you for painstakingly laying out the dangers of her "concerned-liberal cosplay" (love that). Have you ever written more on Sam H.? I'm curious your take, considering his meditation empire.
Thanks! As I say in the piece, I don't want to allocate my time to attacking other journalists -- let alone other journalist/meditation-teachers like Sam. I also agree with Sam often -- I mentioned him in my "recommended reading list" last week, in fact. I do have qualms about the entire centrist pose, which I think leads to disproportionate emphasis on less important issues, and when "The End of Religion" came out many years ago, I argued that it was a preposterous caricature of religion -- that review is easy to find online. However, I have zero qualms about Sam's meditation teaching (which is excellent) and I think he's been spot-on about Trump's authoritarianism this year.
Jay, thank you for covering Weiss. I started following her after 10/7 and initially found her interviews to be worthwhile and important. However, as you stated, over time found her extremely one sided, blew situations out of proportion and failed to cover the dangers of MAGA and the war in Gaza. I have followed Sam Harris and find his views on Islamic Jihad to have both elements truth but lacking in research on other elements of Islam.

This is an important piece. I'd love to see a version of it run on a bigger platform.

Mr. Harris needs to spend some time listening to the feminist, pacifist, environmentalist, hijabi rockers Voice of Baceprot: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPVo_QyS0Hw
